San Marcos Family Medicine is proud to introduce Dr. Myriah Willborn, their newest provider. Dr. Willborn is excited to become part of the large family at SMFM that consists of our providers, staff and patients. Born and raised in San Antonio, medical school took Dr. Willborn to Fort Worth (University of North Texas Health Science Center) and residency in Corpus Christi where she was Chief Resident.
“After traveling around Texas I chose to practice in San Marcos because it is a small town with all of the amenities of a big city” said Dr. Willborn.
Dr. Willborn knew from a young age she would practice medicine. She began her medical venture in high school when her mom put her in a medical high school in San Antonio where they focused on medicine as a profession.
“It’s then that I received my nurse assistant certificate and home health aide certificate. With that experience I knew I wanted a greater challenge. Becoming a doctor would offer me just that.
I chose to become a DO because of the unique style of diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, specializing in Family Medicine provided the variety of practice that I crave. Practicing medicine just came easy to me- it was like second nature.”
Patients agree with Dr. Willborn. They have found her caring, intuitive, and a great communicator. They appreciate the time she takes to make sure she educates her patients. Not to mention her sense of humor is a nice helping and healing touch.
When it was mentioned to Dr. Willborn that she is funny and light hearted, she stated what inspires her.
“An important expression to me is Carpe Diem- because you never know what tomorrow will bring.”
